Happiness Over Church Lady’s Return Perhaps Premature
Uh-uh. It looks like my joy at the apparent return of Church Lady might not be warranted. As this oldie-but-goodie shows, she is not afraid to play with words.
However, I know from spying on her for two years that Church Lady would never, NEVER made a grammatical mistake such as the one on this week’s sign.
Hopefully she has simply moved to Florida. I’ll keep watch for her anyway. Meanwhile I’ll try to resist performing acts of vandalism.

Whew! We were worried about Church Lady.
The nearby corner sign hasn’t changed since April. Since the spring it has read, “Feeling down? Try God’s up-look.” Normally Church Lady is out there every week composing a new inspirational message – sometimes she even has a committee of people helping her (being clever is no small task). At first we thought she was taking a summer break, but the last uplifting observation lingered on through the fall. The Husband and I were concerned that Church Lady had met some demise.
Fortunately a new message appeared this week, although I didn’t actually see her moving the letters around. But I don’t see who else it could be. Her wit is one of a kind.
Welcome back Church Lady!
