One night in Pisa – Yep, it’s leaning

Our last night in Italy was in Pisa and, frankly, we were relieved to almost be home.  We stayed at a modern hotel near the airport to make things easy in the morning (it turns out “easy” meant standing in line 45 minutes to check out and missing out on two shuttles).  We were pleased to have the best (and cheapest) meal in Italy at a little out of the way restaurant near the Arno river.   The city is small and more relaxed than Florence or Venice, which was nice, but we still felt like we had to be on guard at all times.  It was fun to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa.  After seeing so many pictures at first it didn’t seem amazing, but the more we walked around the more disconcerting it became.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching all the people doing The Pose.  I especially loved these people:

Yes, I did one too.  The hardest part was getting The H to take it despite the horrible embarrassment it caused him.

Oh, and one more thing … the 800 year old wall …
