Hiking at Devil’s Lake

The Husband and I have taken our last hiking trip of the year. We were hoping to fit in a late fall trip but our stupid work schedules won’t allow. We spent lovely week-end in Madison, Wisconsin. We hiked at Devil’s Lake Park, which was very pretty but not particularly difficult. We left the trail though for some impromptu scrambling and a good time was had by all.
We were disturbed to see many people swimming in the lake as it is well known to contain skin-boring flukes.
Every single hotel downtown was full so we stayed at a Motel 6, which wasn’t completely horrible. This was in our non-smoking room.
And the drive home to Minnesota …
A few more pics here on Flickr.

You’d love the down-under walk that stretches 250 km between Newcastle and Sydney – the Great North Walk is 21 this year so there are celebrations all round
